With all the hype around the new Tesla being released recently, people are excited about electric vehicles. Many people, especially in the motorbike community, are also looking forward to the future of electric vehicles on two wheels. This is where the FZ comes in, from Sydney-based Fonzarelli.

The team at Fonzarelli have built an electric scooter that’s easy on the eye and user friendly. The FZ has a funky inner city look that blends in with other scooters available and wouldn’t look out of place on streets of Italy. The biggest difference here is the electric motor, which means no longer lining up at the petrol station again!

With a top speed of 75 km/h (or optional 80km/h), it can reach 60km/h in just 6 seconds. It’s powered by a 3kW 3 phase electric motor, and if that’s not enough, there’s a supercharge button to give you that little extra boost. This will come in handy if you need that little bit extra to overtake, or, just for a little bit of fun. Additionally, there’s also a button you can press which puts the scooter into reverse, and is controlled by the throttle. This makes parking in tight spots just that little bit easier. Depending on the batteries, the range can be from 50-100km. Plenty for inner-city riding.

The Fonzarelli provides a quiet and smooth ride, and you’ll look good doing it too! The batteries are removable, which is handy for those apartment dwellers who want to charge them inside, but they’re also safe when locked in the scooter. The Fonzarelli is road registerable and we think they’ll soon be seen all around the streets of Melbourne, Sydney and beyond.
